What is Vajrasana?
Vajrasana is a yoga asana which literally means a hard asana. Vajra is a Sanskrit word that means hard, tough, and intense. Benefits of Vajrasana pose. This is a meditative asana which removes the restlessness of the mind. This is the only asana that can be done even after meals. By doing this asana, problems like indigestion, acidity, gas, and constipation are also cured. This asana should be done for at least 30 seconds and gradually its time period should be increased to 1-3 minutes. The food gets digested properly by doing Vajrasana for 5 to 15 minutes after meals.
How is Vajrasana done?
- To do Vajrasana, sit on your mat and keep both knees together in front.
- Bend your knees and sit straight on your toes.
- The thumbs of both feet should meet, the heels of the feet should be outward, and the toes should be inward.
- Keep the entire body weight on the feet and both hands on the thighs. The part above the waist should be straight.
- Close your eyes, and let the hands and the whole body feel relaxed.
- Breathe in and out normally and sit in this position for a while.

Things to Note
- If we have any problem or pain in our knees or if we have undergone or are undergoing surgery on our knees, then we should not practice this asana.
- If we have pain or any problem in our rib bones or lower rib bones, then we should not practice this asana at all.
- If we are having any problem related to ulcers, hernias, or large or small intestines in our intestines, then we should practice any asana under the supervision of a yoga guru.
